Werewolf claws or no werewolf claws, Valentijn reads enough comic books to know he’s not a hero. He can’t even come out of the closet to his parents or give a school presentation without stuttering. What he is, though, is desperate. So when the god Wodan offers him a quest–with a werewolf cure as a reward–Valentijn takes it. All he needs to do is act gung-ho enough about his wolf nature to infiltrate a dangerous werewolf cult and give Wodan all the details.
Helping a reluctant member escape the cult is one of Valentijn’s first acts in the group, and it puts his cover in danger. Worse, he’s discovering secret after secret, none of them good. His becoming a werewolf wasn’t an accident, and if he stays this way, the wolf will eventually take over. His friends knew this–and never told him. With Valentijn’s trust in them shattered, it’s now just him, an unpredictable god, unreliable fae, and seriously unhinged werewolves–and, soon, a mysterious, pointy-eared, and unreasonably hot co-worker called Nkem. Can Valentijn trust him, not even knowing who, or what, he is?
With Nkem keeping secrets, Valentijn attracting the wrath of the cult’s biggest and baddest members, and god versus frost giant politics severely complicating matters, Valentijn will have to find out who his allies are damn fast if he wants any chance at surviving–let alone getting that cure.
