Dial Down the Writing, Dial Up the Art

The current state of my writing projects:
* This weekend, I finally got Wielders sent off to some beta readers, so that’s one burden off my back. I’m not touching it again until I get some feedback.
* Always Read the Fae Print is still languishing after November. I’m pondering revisions and rewrites but I can take my time on those.
* A future project, Blue, is slowly coming together in my mind. Since I’m not starting any new drafts until I have at least one novel in good enough state to query, I’m not in any rush there.
* A short ghost story I’m working on has ground to a standstill; I’ll type up what I have so far and ponder the missing scenes, but again, no rush. (I should look into some potential markets to send it out to, though.)

All of that means that I have some time to focus on other things: art, reading, and redesigning my website. I’ve got a couple of ideas in mind, and I’m looking forward to playing around with them.

I’ll leave you with some new art I finished last night. My first lapine, drawn without reference. It’s an Adobe Photoshop doodle of one of my friend’s rabbits, Sparrow. She’s crazy about rabbits and has helped a lot of them, plucking them off the street and out of shelters, and when possible, out of the hands of bad owners. If that sounds as cool to you as it does to me, check out her website, Long Eared Overlords.
